A Bit About my History As A Smokemaster
My first smoker was a glass door Smoke Hollow smoker, I was able to get a good deal and make the smoke pipe bigger for the perfect smoke every time! This smoker is similar to the popular Masterbuilt smokers, both use wood chips or pucks to make smoke. As well as often a water pan.
I have since branched off to and own aย Pit Boss Pellet Grillย and even aย Smoke Chief Cold Smoke Generator.ย I do have to say for a starter smoker or just an easy smoke, the Smoke Hollow is still one of my favorites! Plus, there are other brands osf vertical electric smokers.
As with any grilling, smoking, or cooking, you want to ensure you have the proper tools for the job! I always make sure to have a meat thermometer, a set of oven gloves, and tongs for any cooking I do. These are always my go-to when I start to cook anything and they have never failed me!

Foil or Pink Butcher Paper– This is used to regulate the temperature and help with the bark or crispy skin on smoked meats.
Meat Thermometer: You cook to temperature, not time, during the smoking process. Often, you start at a low temperature and then turn it up. The pellet will often come with a temperature probe, sometimes Bluetooth enabled. I use a Thermoworks Thermometer with fast readings, so I don’t lose temperature when checking the temperature.
Pellets– This adds a smoky flavor when cooking your food.
