Smoked Ham Split Pea Soup is a great way to use up any leftover smoked ham.  Plus, when you drop the ham bone in to boil down the flavor added is terrific!  Finding ways to use up leftover smoked meat makes the next meal taste even better, and split pea soup is one of those comfort foods I love!

Now having a big stockpot comes in handy quite often.  I have made Smoked Turkey Noodle, Smoked Pork Chili, Gumbo, Chicken Noodle Soup, Broth, and so much more!!  A tall stockpot is a must when you are cooking with carcasses from your smoked meat, the height leaves room for bones and lots of broth.
