Blackstone Shrimp Fried Rice Recipe

This Shrimp Fried Rice On Blackstone Griddle is my latest variation of fried rice on the griddle. Personally, next time I will serve with a nice steak for a tasty surf and turf night. This was easy to make and was a hit with the whole family.

Fried rice is one of those dinners that the whole family will eat, and it is so easy to make as well. Now, I have shared before How To Make Hibachi Fried Rice On The Blackstone Griddle as well as other Blackstone Recipes. It has become a fun challenge to see how I can change up fried rice every time I make it!
I personally have a 17-inch Blackstone for camping and on the job site, and then at home have a 36-inch one for cooking for the family! If you are new to Blackstone or outdoor griddles, check out my post -> here for my Guide to Griddles!
You can purchase Griddles at these sites too!
Now, if you are a Blackstone owner or new to Blackstone, there are several accessory options!! For making fried rice, the bigger spatulas are very helpful, and the scraper as well for this. I recommend having a squeeze bottle with more oil handy when making this; a bit more oil down helps the eggs not to stick as much when making that part. (These tools are found in the Blackstone Griddle Accessory set)
Shrimp Fried Rice Recipe Ingredients:
- Thawed Shrimp
- Eggs
- White Rice– This will need to be cooked and cooled off. Leftover/day-old rice works best for this rice. You can use Jasmine rice or long grain rice; it is a personal preference.
- Peas and Carrots- I used a frozen pea and carrot combination to make this dish. Shredded carrots will also cook well in this dish.
- Salt and Black Pepper
- Soy Sauce
- Sesame Oil
- Minced Garlic

How To Make Shrimp Fried Rice On Blackstone Griddle:
You will cook rice a couple of hours before you make your fried rice. This can also be done the night before cooking up your white rice. I make my white rice in a rice cooker, like these -> here on Amazon.
After your rice is cooked, spread it out on a cookie sheet to allow it to dry out. Allow it to dry out for about an hour before making the fried rice.
If your shrimp is frozen, fill a bowl with cold water and drop it in. I change out my water often until the shrimp thaw.
Remove the shrimp shells if they need to be removed and de-vine.
In a large bowl, whisk your eggs with a splash of water. I have found that a splash of water makes for fluffier eggs.
Salt and pepper your egg mixture.
Fire up your Blackstone griddle to a medium-high heat and re-oil it down if needed. I always keep mine ready to go, so all I have to do is turn it on and re-oil it a little bit. (Check out my tips for Caring For Your Blackstone -> here)
Pour a spot of extra vegetable oil, and then drop your shrimp in the oil when it is warmed up. I did this to help the shrimp cook and ensure it didn’t stick.

Season the shrimp with some Old Bay and allow them to cook on the flat top griddle. When the shrimp are partially cooked, I sprinkle the shrimp with some soy sauce.
Spread your rice onto the griddle top and sprinkle some minced garlic and soy sauce.
Next, spread the peas and carrots out next to the rice and allow them to cook if frozen; if thawed, they warm up.
Pour your eggs onto the other side of the griddle to cook. If your griddle looks dry, squirt on a bit more vegetable oil.
As the eggs cook, they will look like scrambled eggs and get chopped up like scrambled eggs.

Combine the eggs with the rice, peas, and carrots, and I like to mix them into the rice as they are cooking and still runny.
Mix it with the rest of the rice as the shrimp is cooking.
Remove and serve!

How To Store Leftover Blackstone Fried Rice
Store in an air-tight container or Ziploc bag in the fridge. Eat within three days of being cooked. Fried rice will not freeze very well.
How To Reheat Blackstone Fried Rice
You can reheat leftover Blackstone fried rice in a skillet on the stove or back on the Blackstone griddle itself. This also reheats well in the microwave; I put a wet paper towel over the bowl of fried rice when I go this route.

Good recipe! My first time making it. Note that is a lot of food. There’s 4 of us and we had it as a main course. It made about 8 servings for us, but it’s easy to adjust. Also we only had nine eggs and that seemed about perfect. Try it once and adjust to your liking.
Thanks for the recipe!
That looks incredible!
