Walmart Blackstone Griddle Buying Guide. I know what you are thinking, dude. It’s just a grill. Well, there are way more options for griddles than when I received my first one in 2018. My griddles get used at least a dozen times a month. Since getting my tabletop 17-inch and 36-inch flattop griddle, I am now eyeing the 36-inch Walmart Blackstone grill with an air fryer.

Camping, job sites, dinner, it doesn’t matter; I use my griddle year-round. There isn’t anything you can’t do on the Blackstone. Hangover breakfast on the griddle is my favorite, and the old lady loves an easy weeknight dinner. Total win, right, plus the kids get in on the cooking as well cause it’s fun.

What Is A Blackstone Griddle?

Most people would call this an outdoor grill, but it has become a cooking lifestyle.  The official description of a Blackstone griddle is an outdoor cooking appliance with a hot griddle that is flat to cook food on.   The flat cooking surface is made of steel that can withstand high heat and is run by a propane tank or natural gas burners.  

The griddle can be used for a wide variety of foods.  The most common is hamburgers, hot dogs, steaks, and vegetables!  Breakfast is my go-to, but the family’s favorite is fried rice, followed closely by grilled cheeses and quesadillas.

What Size Blackstone Griddle To Buy?

Now this comes down to personal choice. I have a 17-inch that I take to job sites, camping, and tailgating, and then the 36-inch that lives on my back porch. You can see the more specific recommendations -> here on the Blackstone Website, but I’ll break each size down. There truly is no lousy size to get. Just know that, like most things, the larger cooking surface isn’t a bad idea.

Why Buy Blackstone Griddle At Walmart?

I love that Walmart has free shipping and free pickup today at your local Walmart. Walmart’s current price is typically lower than most other online options.  There is not an Expert Grill Walmart version of Blackstone yet.

36-inch Blackstone Griddle Walmart

I recommend this size for any family with four or more because leftovers are always excellent, and let’s face it, friends and guests come over. For sizing reference, the 36-inch griddle can simultaneously cook up to 72 hot dogs or 24 burgers on the flat-top surface. Unlike most stores, Walmart has a couple of griddles in the 36-inch, even some exclusives to only Walmart.

Blackstone Grill Walmart 28

I recommend this size for couples or families of three, especially if the deck size is limited. Now for sizing reference, the 28-inch griddle can simultaneously cook up to 24 hotdogs or 12 burgers on the flat top surface. Walmart has a couple of griddles in the 28-inch griddle options, even one with an air fryer.

Blackstone 22 tabletop griddle Walmart

Now this is great for a single person, cooking on the job site for the crew, or a family when traveling. Now for sizing reference, the 22-inch griddle can cook up to 12 burgers,12 pancakes, or 12 eggs on the flat top surface. It is the larger of the two tabletop options of the Blackstone Griddle; even though they are table top griddles, they also make stands to set the griddle on.

Tabletop 17 Inch Blackstone Griddle

Now my mom gifted me my 17-inch, so I can’t complain, but if I had a choice, I would have gotten the 22-inch. But either way, it makes a mean breakfast when we are camping! And a pro tip if you work construction like me, fantastic job site lunches. Now for sizing reference, the 22-inch griddle can cook up to 9 burgers on the flat top surface.

Blackstone E-Griddle

Now this is the newest from Blackstone. It’s an electric griddle but not made of the same material as the outdoor griddles. It can be used inside the house and is great for traveling or camping.

It’s excellent for Grilled Cheese, quesadillas, french toast, and pancakes, but for most favorite Blackstone griddle foods, it will not get hot enough to cook those. Either way, it is a fantastic option for electric griddles and is a higher end of those griddles as well.
