This Easy Tomato Caprese Appetizer Recipe is one I have been making for years! I love to host dinner gatherings and when you are serving some heavy dinner items a light appetizer is the perfect pairing. Everyone tends to look at this odd but trust me it is very tasty!

Now ordinally this would be just served at a dinner party or gathering but I have put this together for tailgating events at my house too. The football games go long so starting out with some fresher/healthier appetizer options never hurts anyone. As another bonus, it tends to be gone by the time the first quarter is over so there is never any waste.
Easy Tomato Caprese Appetizer Recipe Ingredients:
What is Tomato Caprese
Tomato Caprese is a classic Italian dish made with ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, and olive oil. We tend to use parsley in place of basil on a personal taste preference.
How To Make Tomato Caprese Appetizer:
Slice your large tomato into four slices.
Brush the top of the tomatoes with some olive oil.
Slice your Mozzarella cheese into slices that fit on your tomatoes, I love to get fresh mozzarella cheese in the deli for this.
Top tomatoes with a slice of cheese.

Drizzle some Balsamic Vinegar to the cheese.
Then to taste top with parsley and sea salt.

Serve and enjoy!

Now we made this just as a side dish when we had a big home-cooked dinner and it worked out perfect!

Now we made quite the feast that night!!
We served up Grilled Pork Steaks, Watermelon Salad With Feta, and Cheese Stuffed Portabella Mushrooms.
