Now I did do a bit of research before making these and came up with my own guesses as to how to go about this! I will say I am going to do a couple of tweaks next time to it.  Below is my smoker I use and also my smoker pucks as well, I didn’t use the thermometer for this recipe it comes in handy smoking meat!

Smoked Eggs Ingredient:

  • Hard Boiled Eggs

Decide how many eggs you are making. I was trying to fill the old lady’s deviled eggs tray for Thanksgiving but didn’t fill it. I started at 12 but we broke some and also ate some.

Start a large pot of water boiling.

Once your water is at a rolling boil carefully place in your eggs.  I boil my eggs for 2 minutes per egg in the water.

Remove and put in an ice water bath for ten minutes.

Start your smoker up to get a good smoke rolling.

Hard Boiled Eggs Peeled on a plate

Peel your eggs out of the eggshell.

Spray your smoker racks or wipe them down with some oil to prevent sticking.

Hard Boiled Eggs On Smoker Racks

Spread your eggs out on the smoker racks. I spaced mine out of a couple of racks to allow plenty of circulation in the smoker as well.

Carefully insert the smoker racks into your smoker once ready to smoke the eggs.

Hardboiled Eggs In A Vertical Smoker

Place eggs in the smoker on the smoker racks.

Allow to smoke for about 30 minutes – 45 minutes till you have the color you want.  The eggs will turn yellow as they absorb the smoke and the flavoring.

Once you cut them in half you can see the smoke ring on the egg.
